Manipal University Jaipur- A Dream, A Reality

A colossal visionary not only transforms a generation but all times to come. Rare are such people and rarest is their emergence, but when it happens, a new chapter is written in the golden page of history. Such was the aura of the personality of Dr. Tonse Madhavan Anantha Pai, the founding father of Manipal Education Group. He first envisioned Kasturba Medical College, the first of private, self-financing MBBS College followed by Manipal Institute of Technology in 1957. The current Chairperson and Chancellor of the University is Padma Bhushan Dr. Ram Das Pai.

 His essential belief was “Students are the greatest asset of the country. They must realize it and see that they are not only assets in imagination, but in action and dependability. The moral fabric of each student is the moral wealth of the whole nation.”

The environs of Manipal incorporate ideals “to provide best possible environment for the all-inclusive development of a student.”   Having influenced 3,00,000 students spreading over 59 nations since inception, Manipal Institutions have multiple dimensions with which they have  ventured into as diverse fields of education like medical, dental, allied health, architecture, engineering, pharmacy, management, nursing, communication, hotel management, information science, biotechnology, and many more to enumerate. Manipal University Jaipur was a beautiful result of sustained aspiration to scale new educational heights and a warm invitation from the state government to partner in its dream of imparting multi-disciplinary education through a private University.  Now built on a 154 acre fully WiFi enabled land near Dehmi Kalan village on Jaipur- Ajmer Highway, it’s the most elegant campus in the region and has come up at an unbelievable pace.

The state of art Laboratories, 5000 computers for centralized computing facility, 24× 7 Wi Fi, AMS system makes learning a smooth sail.  The University follows semester system, choice based credit system, self-learning initiatives, open book examination system etc. It promotes industrial visits and internships so as to be in sync with the modern educational trends. The University is proud to have prestigious funded projects from various agencies as well as seed money for research.

The Central Library is a marvelous repository of knowledge. It’s a complete world of books, journals, e- resources which crisscrosses the global and includes world renowned publishers and publications.

To ensure an all-round shaping of students’ personality, the University houses sports, cultural and facilities and promotes variegated activities through students clubs. Sports facility include Table Tennis, Basketball, football, tennis, badminton, cricket, basketball, volleyball, athletics’, day night sports facility etc.

The Music and Dramatics club promotes creativity. Technical Clubs like Green Club, Robotics Club, IEEE students’ chapter, ICEIT chapter, ISTE, IEI, IETE, AME, CSI etc. keep students abreast of latest technologies and provide platform to excel above the ordinary. There are two marvellous auditoriums along with Student activity areas and an amphitheater, especially carved out to ensure thinking, imagination, reflection and innovation amongst students.

MUJ ensures International Exposure to its students and faculty by signing MOU’s for academic collaboration at national and international level thus bringing synergy and symbiosis in teaching learning methodology. MOU with IAESTA etc. are a few to quote.

The Placement Cell therefore guide students through the rigorous  path of career planning through mechanisms like Personality Development, industry- institute interaction, innovation and incubation programmes, industrial visits, industrial and Managerial talks by the professional, fine tuning of the curriculum through industrial and professional feedback, arranging of aptitude tests, group discussions etc.

MUJ today has strong professional presence across 97 world renowned companies like Amazon, Wipro,  Appirio, SAP Labs, Kirloskar, Eagle Burgman, JCB, Infineon, Temenos etc. where it has partnered for Placement, internship and PPO for its students.

MUJ Campus has been the first campus of its kind in the county to have been awarded 5- star rating by GRIHA (Green Rating for Inntegrated Habitat Assesment). Another father in the cap has been National Education Excellence ASSOCHAM Award 2015 under the category ‘ Best University Campus’, followed by yet another achievement which was reported in The Economic times of being rated First Smart Campus by NDTV and CISCO for being pioneers and architects of India’s digital transformation.
