Manipal University Jaipur celebrated 118th Birth Anniversary of its
founder, Late Dr T M APai, Padma Shree Awardeewho has been an icon and a
visionary leader of Manipal Group.
President, Prof.
Sandeep Sancheti digitally inaugurated the ceremony and exhorted audience to
reignite themselves to lofty ideals of Dr TMA Pai. Dr Sancheti added that MrPai
chose a path less traveled. Instead of going to greener pastures abroad, he
honored his mother's wish and dedicated his life to service to the nation.

President Prof Kumkum Garg made audience aware aboutlife skills - Dr T M A Pai
worked tirelessly for excellence in Education, Healthcare and Human
Development.
To highlight the
relevance of Dr TMA Pai’s philosophy, 'inspired by life', Prof P K Pandey,
Director, School of Planning & Design, MUJ, talked about built environment – inspired by life.
Mr. SurendraRamanna P. E.,
S. E., Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, TRC Worldwide Engineering INC. USA
offered scholarships for best
performing students of MUJ.Team MUJ
appreciated the contribution ofMr. SurendraRamanna – it will go long way in
attracting better students at MUJ.
Mr.Hareesh
Gowda, P.E., S.E (I), FIE Senior Vice President, TRC Engineering (I) Pvt.
Ltd. graced the occasion. He gave away
scholarships to the following students in the lovingly memory of Bharat Ratna
Dr M Vishveshwarya and the father of Mr. SurendraRamanna, Mr K G Ramanna, an
illustrious IPS officer.

It was followed by felicitation of young
academic achievers of the University. Meritorious students from various streams
got certificates from President, Prof. Sandeep Sancheti.
Well performing departments too received recognition on the
Founder's Day. Department of Fashion Design was applauded
for crafting a saree for the Chief Minister of Rajasthan. It was presented to
her on the occasion of inauguration of MUJ Campus by her.
Department of Hotel Management was appreciated for making world's
largestMaalpua and Gateau Annanas. Department of Mechanical Engineering earned
recognition for Jaipur Hand. Associate Dean, Prof N N Sharma and MUJ student
MananIssarreceived the appreciation from President, MUJ.
Dr. Deepshikha proposed a vote of thanks. It was followed by floral
tributes to the Founder by all.
