Bachelor of Planning (B.PLAN) programme at School of Planning & Design, Faculty of Design, Manipal University Jaipur aims to prepare professionals for Town Planning/Urban Planning/Transport Planning/ Environment Planning/ Regional Planning and related fields. This programme is multidisciplinary & multidimensional and this is what distinguishes it from other programmes – trains for exciting job opportunities and enables one to drive the smart city movement.

By 2030, urban population of India is projected to be nearly twice the entire population of USA today. To settle this population in a planned manner, we need to plan & build equivalent of a Chicago every year. This is indicative of the fact that a lot of planning and planners are required. At present about 400 planners are passing out of educational institutions whereas country needs about 4000 new planners every year.

Govt. of India has already announced promotion & development of 100 Smart Cities and a large number of policy initiatives of Govt. of India, State Govts. and local bodies are on the anvil. All these policies, programmes and projects create enormous job opportunities for qualified planners in:
