Founder's Day celebrated with reverence and gaiety at MUJ

Manipal University Jaipur celebrated 118^th Birth Anniversary of its founder, Late Dr T M APai, Padma Shree Awardeewho has been an icon and a visionary leader of Manipal Group.

President, Prof. Sandeep Sancheti digitally inaugurated the ceremony and exhorted audience to reignite themselves to lofty ideals of Dr TMA Pai. Dr Sancheti added that MrPai chose a path less traveled. Instead of going to greener pastures abroad, he honored his mother's wish and dedicated his life to service to the nation.

MUJ Pro - President Prof Kumkum Garg made audience aware aboutlife skills - Dr T M A Pai  worked tirelessly for excellence in Education, Healthcare and Human Development.

To highlight the relevance of Dr TMA Pai’s philosophy, 'inspired by life', Prof P K Pandey, Director, School of Planning & Design, MUJ, talked about built environment – inspired by life.

Mr. SurendraRamanna P. E., S. E., Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, TRC Worldwide Engineering INC. USA offered scholarships for best performing students of MUJ.Team MUJ appreciated the contribution ofMr. SurendraRamanna – it will go long way in attracting better students at MUJ.

Mr.Hareesh Gowda, P.E., S.E (I), FIE Senior Vice President, TRC Engineering (I) Pvt. Ltd.  graced the occasion. He gave away scholarships to the following students in the lovingly memory of Bharat Ratna Dr M Vishveshwarya and the father of Mr. SurendraRamanna, Mr K G Ramanna, an illustrious IPS officer.

It was followed by felicitation of young academic achievers of the University. Meritorious students from various streams got certificates from President, Prof. Sandeep Sancheti. 

Well performing departments too received recognition on the Founder's Day. Department of Fashion Design was applauded for crafting a saree for the Chief Minister of Rajasthan. It was presented to her on the occasion of inauguration of MUJ Campus by her.

 

Department of Hotel Management was appreciated for making world's largestMaalpua and Gateau Annanas. Department of Mechanical Engineering earned recognition for Jaipur Hand. Associate Dean, Prof N N Sharma and MUJ student MananIssarreceived the appreciation from President, MUJ.

 

 

Dr. Deepshikha proposed a vote of thanks. It was followed by floral tributes to the Founder by all.

Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), UK Recognition for Manipal University Jaipur

CIMA (Chartered Institute of Management Accountants), a London based organisation provides value addition programmes in the field of Commerce and Engineering. This qualification helps the Institutions involved in higher education to create a vibrant and knowledge based student community who are the future leaders of India.

MUJ has been chosen as the most Innovative Institutional Partner for the academic year 2015-16 among all the institutional partners of CIMA. In the annual conference of CIMA, MUJ has been conferred with the “Most Valued Learning Institutional Partner for the Emerging Market 2015-16” award along with CERTIFICATE OF EXCELLENCE. Dr. Teena Shivnani, Coordinator, International Programmes and Dr. Gaurav Lodha, Head (Commerce received the award on 29th April 2016 at Mumbai.

PRINCIPALS’ SUMMIT 23th APRIL , 2016

Interactive sessions were held on how to bridge the gap between school education and Higher Education in order to help the students with wider career options.  The Summit was attended by principals of various colleges and schools.  The Principals from prominent schools from various cities like Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Sikar, Pali, Ajmer, Kota, Alwar and Bikaner attended the Summit.

Prof Sandeep Sancheti, President, Manipal University Jaipur gave the welcome address and focused on the core competencies required and the solutions required for bridging the gap between secondary and tertiary education. Prof Richa Arora, Director Admissions, introduced the theme of the Summit.

Prof. M S Ananth, Former Director, IIT Madras was the Chief Guest of the occasion. Prof K Ramnarayan  VP- Faculty Development and Alumni Relations, Manipal University, Karnataka was the Guest of Honour.

A talk was given by the Chief Guest, Prof. M S Ananth, Former Director, IIT Madras on the role of the university faculty to develop the creativeness of the student rather than making him only employment ready.  He discussed various methodologies to improve the teaching –learning process.

The Guest of Honor Prof K Ram Narayan VP- Faculty Development and Alumni Relations, Manipal University Karnataka,   addressed the audience on teaching techniques. He elaborated at length with examples on the role of a teacher. 

There was a panel discussion comprising of:

• Prof Kumkum Garg, Pro President, Manipal University Jaipur.
• Prof ML Bapna, Advisor, Industry- Academia interface ,IIT Jodhpur 
• Prof Sudha Rai, Former Dean, Faculty of Arts, University of Rajasthan.
• Lt. Gen. Surendra Kulkarni, Principal Director, Mayo College, Ajmer.
• Dr. K Kain, Director Delhi Public School, Jaipur.

 The panel members exchanged ideas to create a blueprint of shared solutions for bridging the gap between secondary and tertiary education. This was followed by an Interjection round with the panel members on the subject of how a teacher should be a role model for the students. It was emphasized that only when this happens the student can be transformed to truly develop, grow and have a successful career.
